Like many things that take place on the Internet, the name “Wandering Mexican” began as something of a joke. I created the persona as a way to post online anonymously because, as a working journalist at the time, the public sharing of opinions was prohibited. It was an inside joke among colleagues that quickly took on a life of its own.

Born in the American Southwest with a love for travel, my Internet nom de plume allowed me to explore a new digital realm with the same enthusiasm that I wandered the real world—always seeking new places, ideas and innovations.
